Biography:
Formed in 2009, Slide by Slide was the brainchild of Kevin Grenfell. Kevin feels there is a place for this type of high quality entertainment on the jazz club and festival circuit, which seems to be the case as Slide by Slide was nominated “Best Festival Newcomer” to celebrate its first appearance in 2011 at Marlborough Jazz and Blues Festival.
The texture and timbre of Kevin Grenfell and Richard Leach's individual playing styles give their repertoire a depth and tone that’s sure to please, with titles ranging from the traditional songbook through to the contemporary.
As well as playing a great variety of music, Kevin sometimes adds to the variety by exchanging his trombone for his trumpet. Kevin also has great sense of humour which enables the band to generate a great rapport with the audience.
Providing a terrific rhythm section are:-
Richard Hughes on piano, Simon Smith on double bass and Graham Smith on drums.
